M Y Kisiwani and her crew have been
building expertise and creating individual tailor-made itineraries
around Pemba for over 10 years.

NASSORO YOMBE
Nassoro
was born in 1971 and brought up in Tanzania. He has sailed extensively
around Pemba and has considerable knowledge of Pemba Island.
His experience began when he joined M Y Kisiwani as cook No
2 on her first trip in 1994. He embraced all aspects of life
on M Y Kisiwani and soon became cook No 1. His enthusiasm in
the kitchen was transferred to the ocean and he became a Dive
Master in 2003. He took over the helm of M Y Kisiwani at the
end of 2003 and became a fully qualified Dive Instructor in
2006.
Nassoro is a proud family man , is married to Sophia and has
two lovely children, Khalfan and Khadija.

BAKARI NASSORO
Bekker started off at The Pemba Channel Lodge as the 'kitchen
toto'. Bekker is truly enthusiastic about food and his skills
in the galley are legendary. Using a combination of Swahili,
Indian, Mediterranean and Middle East Cuisine he produces
exotic and imaginative seafood, light and succulent salads,
delicious dressing for pasta and fish and super sauces for
balmy evening bar-b-q's as well as freshly baked bread, homemade
granola, pickles and chutneys. Bekker believes the freshest
and simplest dishes are often the finest and most memorable.

Hamisi
is a Kenyan and joined us at the beginning of the 2004 season.
As with all the crew Hamisi is super friendly and will go
out of his way to make your time with us the best vacation
you will ever take!

has been with The Pemba Channel Lodge for 18 years. All his
hard work makes your vacation an effortless pleasure. He is
